Retail and business space specialist Eric Young & Co is one of the most active and progressive Chartered Surveyors and Property Consultants firms based in Scotland. As such, they have a vision where managers access the HR system to help them manage their employees giving them access to all the tools they need and to guide them through particular people management processes.
Throughout our discussions, a need to consolidate all employee data, to have the ability for managers to take on some additional people management repsonsibilities, and to further develop and automate time consuming day to day HR processes became the key reasons for investing in technology. The realisation of the expected commercial returns if such a system were available was to be a major influence in their purchasing decision.
Underpinned by a comprehensive database covering all aspects of people management throughout the entire employee lifecycle, the primary purpose of the Youmanage system is to deliver relevant information to line managers, and to provide them with up to date guidance and management training content so that they are much better supported and equipped to deal with their day-to-day activities.
Understanding that the entry cost is low, that the system being easy to use, and with the potential to add more functionality as the needs of the business evolves, were all important and influential factors.
Although we helped and advised Eric Young & Co to explore the capabilities of more traditional HR systems, the decision to adopt the online toolkit from Youmanage was clear; the service is far more proactive, it offers managers HR best practice guidance at the point of need, and it adds tremendous value to employee engagement within the workplace, meaning a much greater overall positive contribution to their business. |
