Biomar Ltd, based in Grangemouth and one of the leading suppliers of high performance fish feed to the aquaculture industry, have adopted the 'Online HR Toolkit' from Youmanage.

Biomar, which has 57 employees within its Grangemouth Dock Factory, has a workforce made up of both office staff and floor workers. The HR Administrator had been processing holiday requests and managing absence for the 57 employees using a series of Excel worksheets. This method of data recording had proven very time consuming as it was done without any underlying, proactive workflow processes possible or easy reporting capability being available; this had become expensive and cumbersome, as HR administration was taking up the majority of her day.

Biomar therefore had a need to streamline the processes belonging to managing employee data and adopt a clear policy regarding Holiday & Absence Management. At the same time, they've chosen to devolve responsibility and to empower Line Managers to deal with some of the more common, day to day administrative procedures, which has had a positive and knock-on effect of reducing the workload for HR.

Employee kiosks are to be installed within the onsite cafeteria area, allowing staff access to their own data being held on Youmanage, giving them the ability to request annual leave, change their personal details, or to complete their own performance review!
