Scottish Borders Housing Association, an independent Housing Association serving communities in the Scottish Borders, has awarded activHR Consulting with a contract to implement a new HR software system, People Inc, by P&A Group.

SBHA, providing quality, affordable homes, is a Registered Social Landlord and a Scottish Charity and it acquired its housing stock from Scottish Borders Council in 2003, following an independent ballot of tenants.

Since then, SBHA has spent over £22.5 million on improving Tenants' homes, set up 2 local Area Boards involving Tenants and community representatives, continued the Right to Buy for pre-transfer Tenants, honoured a 5-year Rent Guarantee, and established robust procedures for dealing with Anti-Social Behaviour.

activHR have supported the use of the incumbent HR system for many years. During the past 3 years we have been involved in many strategic discussions between Technical Sales within activHR and project team members from SBHA’s IT, HR and Corporate Services departments on how a replacement HR system should provide a wholly flexible and configurable business platform.

The vision for a configurable framework product approach, rather than adopting ‘off the shelf’ capability, was established some time ago, when understanding the wide and varied elements of functionality required to support the entire organisation, rather than simply the HR department.

Ed Bibby, Client Services Manager at activHR Consulting, will oversee the implementation of People Inc to ensure the timely delivery of all known requirements. Ed commented, “we’re looking forward to configuring the People Inc HR software application to provide the required functionality to SBHA. Like many clients, SBHA have some specific non-standard HR requirements. We needed to supply a flexible system where we’re able to redesign the database structure and be able to create bespoke workflow capabilities on both the standard HR activities and against the newly built functionality."
