Disability Discrimination legislation requires employers to make reasonable adjustments - allowing those with disabilities to continue in employment where possible. Where an employee needs time off work, special equipment or perhaps training, the resulting costs to an employer may be substantial. The Shaw Trust can advise on whether there is funding available to meet these. It is also worth noting that some funding may also be available for the employee where they have costs associated with their disability. For example, perhaps they need an adapted car to get to work, or a bag on wheels in which to carry a heavy laptop etc. If you would like to find out more about the Shaw Trust, please call activHR Consulting to speak to our HR Advice Line Source: Empire HR |
