Did you know a business employing someone with a disability may be eligible for Government funding?  The Shaw Trust can advise on sources of potential funding designed to assist employers in meeting the cost of workplace adaptations and other costs associated with employing someone with a disability.

Disability Discrimination legislation requires employers to make reasonable adjustments - allowing those with disabilities to continue in employment where possible.

Where an employee needs time off work, special equipment or perhaps training, the resulting costs to an employer may be substantial.  The Shaw Trust can advise on whether there is funding available to meet these.

It is also worth noting that some funding may also be available for the employee where they have costs associated with their disability.  For example, perhaps they need an adapted car to get to work, or a bag on wheels in which to carry a heavy laptop etc.
